GRASS SEED BREADSTICKS

INGREDIENTS

½ C flour

60 ml corn flour

2 ml salt

1 egg

2 T oil

40 ml lukewarm water (can be replaced with Umqombothi)

wheat berries, milled

METHOD

  1. Preheat the oven to 160°C.
  2. Spray the back of a 38.5 cm x 26 cm baking tray with food-safe, non-stick spray. 
  3. In a stand-up mixer mix all the ingredients, except the wheat berries, together until combined, without kneading. Add more water if needed.
  4. Divide the dough into 5 g portions.
  5. On a floured surface sprinkle milled wheat berries and roll the dough in thin long strips (2 mm x 40 cm).
  6. Place lengthways over the back of the baking tray with the dough slightly going over the edges.
  7. Bake for 8 minutes until golden brown in colour.
  8. Serve with butter.
